PurePlus Technology was designed to deliver base oils with performance required to blend modern 0W grade motor oils and is ideally suited to blend the new 0W-16 product grade delivering the required lower viscosity along with low oil volatility. Low viscosity realizes the fuel economy benefits inherent within the 0W-16 specification whereas low oil volatility is necessary in controlling oil consumption over the oil drain and maintaining long term engine cleanliness.
